Do Traffic Exchanges Really Work

How To Make Money With Traffic Exchanges

A traffic exchange is a site where you can get new visitors to your web site in exchange for viewing the sites of other members. Users rapidly view a number of sites and it is then the job of the site owners and advertisers to present interesting & eye catching material.

There are many hundreds of traffic exchange sites on the internet and finding the ones that are good can be difficult.

The key to using traffic exchanges effectively is understanding that the person will only be viewing your site for around 10 – 20 seconds, sometimes a little longer. Rather than sending the person to your regular home page, you should be sending them to a specific “landing page” or advertisement designed for traffic exchanges. Use this advertisement to create curiosity about your site. The most effective are squeeze pages or splash pages, which have a simple headline, description, and an opt-in form to receive future emails. Then the surfer can easily type their email address in and receive more information about your product or services at a later time. A main goal of using traffic exchanges should be to build your personal list of business prospects for now and future endeavors.

How Does It Work?
It’s simple: You look at other people’s blogs & sites, and then they look at yours.

Most programs require you to click a button every 6-30 seconds in order to view the next page and earn credits. There is usually some kind of security measure to prevent users from cheating by surfing too quickly. And to prevent bots, the user is often also required to enter a captcha code regularly while surfing. This means that the surfer is definitely going to see your material and click through to your site.

So How Do I Make Money?
Typically “surfers” will be directed to information about your product, a blog post, or an affiliate offer. Affiliate networks such as ClickBank are especially well suited for use with traffic exchanges. Linkshare and Commission Junction are two others to try. Note that pay-per-click programs such as Google AdSense generally prohibit placements on traffic exchanges because their model is incentivised clicks, thus making it impossible for a user to simply “browse” offers.

Here Are Eight Steps To Get Started
1.Take your time to understand the traffic exchange market and structure a campaign accordingly. Spend some time acquainting yourself with the various advertising mediums available such as full page views, banner and text ad displays and various other alternatives offered by a variety of traffic exchanges.
2.Choose between five and ten highly ranked and used traffic exchanges and begin to build up advertising credits within these exchanges in preparation to launch your campaign. Try and allocate a set period of at least thirty minutes per day to this task.
3.Begin designing and structuring your campaign which should include a splash page (a fast loading page with a simple message prompting the surfer to open your site in a new window), a squeeze or lead capture page (a page designed with the sole purpose of getting the viewer to request more information from you via email) and a well written email follow up campaign that stays on message while offering the reader genuine help and assistance. Several squeeze and splash pages should be designed so that you can track effectiveness and constantly be able to adjust your pages for better results.
4.Set up an tracking mechanism to track splash page effectiveness. This can be done via Google Analytics, by reading your server log files, or there are specific ad tracking services available.
5.Set some realistic goals based on a formula that every lead you generate should be worth on average at least $1 per month to you.
6.Start your campaign and analyze the effectiveness of your message. If no one is jumping, you can create a new ad or edit your existing one.
7.Continually monitor results and tweak accordingly to realize profit.
8.Consider ramping up profitable campaign by buying advertising credits.

How To Generate Traffic Using Ad Swaps

How To Generate Traffic Using Ad Swaps

We all know how important it is to build an e-mail
subscriber list as part of your online strategy, but
it can be difficult to get enough traffic to your
squeeze page.

You can use a lot of different traffic generation
methods in order to send traffic to your squeeze
page and build your subscriber list including pay
per click advertising, search engine optimization,
and article marketing.

There is one powerful method, however, that many
marketers overlook, and that method is known as
ad swaps.

This concept is pretty simple because all you
have to do is contact another marketer in your
niche who also has an e-mail list and you agree
to perform a simple swap so that both of you can
receive additional subscribers.

You would send an e-mail to your list promoting
the other marketer’s opt in list, and he or she
would do the same for you.

This is generally a simple and effective way to
add subscribers to your list, but you need to keep
some precautions in mind.

If at all possible, you should verify that the
other marketer has the number of subscribers claimed.

Otherwise, you could be wasting your time even
though no real damage will have been done.

For best results, you should contact marketers who
have roughly the same number of subscribers as you
do in order to make the whole process worthwhile for
both of you.

If you have 500 subscribers, for example, and the
other marketer has 1000 subscribers, you might still
be able to work out an arrangement if you are willing
to send two e-mails to your list in order to make up
for the difference.

If you don’t currently have any subscribers but still
want to participate in the swaps, you need to build a
list of at least a few hundred subscribers as quickly
as possible in order to be taken seriously.

The fastest way to achieve this would be to use some
paid advertising such as pay per click campaigns so
you can begin participating in ad swaps as soon as
possible.

Solo Ads & Ad Swaps, What Are They?

Solo Ads & Ad Swaps

Helpful Techniques for Internet Marketing List Growth

A fundamental component for making money online with internet marketing is list building. The adage that “the money is in the list” is incredibly true!

(Technically the money is in your relationship with your list, but that’s a different story!)

If you’re still not sure about this whole list building thing, or why can be an important part of monetizing online, be sure to check out List Building Basics.

With that has came a lot of discussion of Solo Ads and Ad Swaps.

What Are Solo Ads and Ad Swaps?

In super basic terms, a “Solo Ad” is when you generally pay someone to mail their email list, on your behalf, with a recommendation and link to your free optin offer squeeze page.

An “Ad Swap” is the same idea only two people do it in exchange with each other to help each other out. (If one has a much larger list than the other, the one with the smaller list may need to mail twice, to send a fair amount of traffic.)

These two are basically the same, except that one is paying with an exchange and the other is paying with cash.

This type of advertising takes advantage of the relationship a marketer has with their list… that their list KLT’s (knows, likes and trusts) them… to get some optins for the other person.

This can be an incredibly powerful form of list building although there are a lot of variables that go into how good the results will be.

What Is Needed To Participate In Ad Swaps?

To start with, before you can do ANYTHING you have to have a few things in place….

1. Hosting – your squeeze/optin page has to be hosted somewhere on the internet

2. Autoresponder – this service allows you to capture a list and get good deliverability when you later send emails to them

3. A “Ethical Bribe” – this is the freebie you are exchanging with the visitor for his/her name and email address. Can be your own product/ebook or a PLR you have giveaway rights too.

4. A squeeze page (aka optin page) for the other person to send traffic to for you.

And…

either

1. Money to pay for a Solo Ad.

or

2. An existing double  optin list you have a good relationship with to be able to mail an ad for the other person. (If the other person has a larger list than you do, you may also need to leverage your ability to promote to your twitter followers/etc although these are technically not a list.)

Where to Find Ad Swaps and Solo Ads?

There are a number of places in the internet marketing world online that one can find potential people to do business with. The Warrior Forum often has lots of people either looking for/ offering ad swaps, or selling Solo Ads. Definitely be careful in there as you MUST find someone that has a good reputation or you could end up out some money.

One of the best ways however is within your own preexisting communities.

For example many of the tribe syndication communities are currently attempting to facilitate ad swaps among their members.

Often within your own niche and own private communities you can find groups offering ad swaps.

It is ALWAYS best to start these swaps in your existing communities (or communities you trust) so that the trust level is high and you feel comfortable promoting the other person.

List Growth With Ad Swaps

Once you’ve built your subscriber list up to 500-1,000 subscribers, you can
then start building your list exponentially using ad swaps. Ad swaps are
hands-down one of the fastest ways to build your list online.

But first, let’s talk about exactly what an ad swap entails…
An ad swap occurs when two list owners each agree to mail their list an
offer from the other list owner. This is usually a free offer placed on a
landing page/squeeze page in exchange for someone’s name and email
address. As a result, they are both adding hundreds of subscribers to their
lists.

The most effective ad swap occurs when two list owners endorse the other
person’s squeeze page offer, which gives away a free report, video, or
some other content of value.

Even if you just have a small list, you can still leverage that asset to swap
ads with other list owners – helping you to grow your list at a rapid pace.
Ad swaps are a little-known tactic that almost all of the big internet
marketers are using to add 200 to 500 subscribers per day.
So, once you’ve built a “seed” list of 500-1,000 subscribers, it’s now time to
go out and start looking for potential ad swap partners.
Here are some places online where you can find other list owners who are
actively looking to do ad swaps:

http://www.imadswaps.com
http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-joint-ventures/
Safe-Swaps.com
http://www.AdswapFinder.com
JVME.com
ListSwapper.com
HonestWorkFromHomeSuccess.com
EliteClickSwaps.com

Once you have found some potential JV partners, contact them and
propose to do an ad swap with your lists. Keep in mind that it doesn’t
matter if your potential JV partner has a bigger list size.
For example, let’s say you want to swap ads with someone who has a list
of 10,000 subscribers and you have 1,000 subscribers. Not a problem! The
person with 10,000 subscribers would just send your ad out to 1,000
subscribers of their 10,000 person list. So they would just send it to a
segment of their list. Easily doable in Aweber, GetResponse, etc…
Problem solved!

Plus, here’s a powerful tip that will increase the chance of your
potential partner agreeing to do an ad swap…
Go ahead and set up a squeeze page that is specific to the marketer
you’re swapping ads with. So at the top of your squeeze page (directly
under your headline), you would have some text that says, “This is an
exclusive secret download page only for Bob Smith’s subscribers)
This makes it a lot more personal. Not only are you going to get a more
positive response from your potential partner, but you will also get higher conversions on your squeeze page because it’s targeted directly to their
subscribers.

Ad swaps are one of the best ways to grow your list quickly without
spending any money.
This is some of the very best traffic you can get because someone is
endorsing your free offer to their list of subscribers.
Plus, the really cool thing about ad swaps is that you can do them
MULTIPLE times… with the same people!
Since both of your lists are growing all the time you can do an ad swap
with the same people on a monthly basis by sending the ad swap only to
your newest subscribers.
I hope you’re starting to see how powerful this is.

Also keep in mind that there are MANY different types of ad swaps. Email
ad swaps are the most common, but you can also exchange banner ad
space on your blog, ads on your thank-you page, log-in page, log-out
page, etc… Think outside the box. After you’ve done an ad swap with
someone look for additional ways that you both can integrate your ads into
the other person’s marketing and sales funnel. This type of integration
marketing can create a perpetual list builder that lasts well beyond an initial
ad swap
