A quick note about how to write copy. You may think it is boring but your goal is to break down mental barriers. So the more they see it repeated the more they buy into because it is reinforced even more.

At the very top of your page you want a preheadline, headline and sub-headline.

Your pre-headline warms people up to the headline and then the sub-headline transitions into the copy by reinforcing what the headline said.

The headline is short and quick. Try to keep your headline around 20-30 words and make it focus on the main benefit. But you still want to have it have an impact.

Then the sub-headline can pick up where the headline leaves off and go a little bit more in depth. It is also a good idea to put an image here that leads the reader to the next phase in a hand writing font while reinforcing scarcity.

You can make it say something like “Grab this special offer not because there are only 20 spots left!” and have some image arrows pointing down that look hand drawn.
The next step is to put a picture of yourself positioned to the left with a date script, a from name (your name) then a RE :Big benefit.

The opening paragraph should start with a drop cap. You know.. like in magazine where the have the BIG first letter.

What this does is basically force people to read the first paragraph. It
should also focus on the main problems, issues or pain that your

If you try to market to everyone you market to nobody. You need to target your message to a specific sub niche. For example in the heath niche you could market to women over 35 who want to lose belly fat.

Clearly define your demographic. You want to your buyers feel like you create your product directly for them so tailor your product to specific people who need a specific solution.

Step 2: Create An Information Product That Solves Your Target niche’s Problem

After you find a group of people who have a problem then create an information product that solves that problem.

This can be done fast! Just record an audio, video or write an ebook that solves your markets biggest problems. Video is a higher perceived value than audio and an ebook and audio is a higher perceived value than an ebook.

So consider creating videos (can be done easily in powerpoint) an turning them into physical products through a fulfillment company. This allows you to package it so it is presented in a valuable way.

The front end (AKA your first product) is to generate goodwill by over delivering at the point of sale.

You need to understand the front end is for lead generation and back end is for profit. It’s difficult to make six figures a month with a front end profit strategy.

The key is to give more value than you take. You want to build life long fans who buy your products over and over. You do this by over delivering.

Stock the front end with low price high value products to generate goodwill then cash in on $2,000 products on the back end.

Step 3: Tell The People Who Have The Problem That You Have The Solution

Go out to forums, newsgroups, use paid advertisements or use any method possible to get your message out to the market. You can sell without selling simple by telling people who have the problem that you have the solution.
Think about it for a second. If you had a problem with belly fat and someone offered you a solution wouldn’t you be happy to pay them for it? Most people would.

So get the message out.
Don’t worry about creating killer copy (even though it helps) because you don’t need to be a master copywriter to sell a $10 or $20 entry point front end product.

Step 4: Create Higher Priced, Higher Value Products To Sell To Your Customers

A front end is the initial contact point and the back end is where you sell other products over and over (more expensive and more valuable).

Up Periscope

I’ve been using the Periscope app to provide daily broadcasts for the past 2 weeks. Below you can read what I learned, but before we get into that, an explanation of Periscope.

imagesPeriscope was bought by Twitter in March this year who relaunched the application on 26 May on iOS. It was released on Android exactly 2 months later. It allows you to live broadcast from your phone or tablet from anywhere; as long as you have a good internet connection. Each broadcast is automatically shared onto Twitter when it starts. As each viewer joins this is announced on screen. Viewers can interact with the broadcaster by typing comments or tapping the screen which creates hearts that float up the screen. Hearts are used to indicate appreciation by the viewer – they are sort of an equivalent to a Facebook Like. The broadcast can be viewed for 24 hours until it is deleted.

Since the beginning of July I have been broadcasting a daily social media tip on each working day covering Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter. Each Friday I do a weekly wrap of the previous week’s tips, for those that missed them. Over the 2 weeks my audience has grown from 8 live viewers to around 85, with a high of just over a 100 on last week. It is encouraging that I have started to receive questions during broadcasts and more are welcome! Periscope presents a great opportunity for a live Q and A.

Here are my top ten Periscope learning points

 

1.A good internet connection is vital

If the connection is poor the Start Broadcast button doesn’t initialise but I discovered that just because it does, doesn’t mean your connection is good enough. A poor connection will mean freezes during the broadcast which make it frustrating for viewers.

2.Find a quiet environment

A phone or tablet microphone will pick up background noise, so if possible find somewhere quiet to do your broadcast. This is particularly important if you are presenting or running a Q and A.

3.Periscope doesn’t work on Samsung phones

Although there’s no confirmation from Samsung or Periscope it does seems that there’s an issue with the Android app on Samsung phones. I have discovered lots of users with problems of intermittent broadcasts and haven’t found anyone who’s successfully broadcasting on a Samsung. (Update: 8.07.15 – There’s been improvement on my Samsung Galaxy Alpha since last Android update with freezing issue fixed but quality of broadcast via iPad is far superior).

4.Update your profile description

When you sign up to Periscope your profile description is imported from Twitter. To attract more viewers I’d suggest amending to to make it Periscope specific. At present you can only do amend your profile description on the iOS app.

5.Use a hashtag

To make it easier for people to find your broadcasts on Twitter; use a hashtag in your video title which is immediately posted to Twitter when you start broadcasting. At present hashtags don’t work on Periscope, in fact there is no video search but I imagine this will change soon.

6.Use Auto save Broadcasts

I highly recommend checking the Auto save Broadcast option so that all your broadcasts are saved to your device. You’ll then be able to re-purpose your videos such as upload them to YouTube or add to your website.

7.Be ready

When you hit the Start Broadcast button you are live straight away. There’s no countdown or pause so be prepared for this and start talking straight away. It’s also important where you back camera is pointing when the broadcast starts as this opening image is used as the thumbnail when your video is listed.

8.Repeat questions

Comments aren’t viewable on the screen during replays, so for the benefit of replay viewers you should repeat comments, particularly questions, when answering them.

9.Turn on Location Sharing

To attract people from your area and to provide context, make sure that Location Sharing is switched on. This is even more important now that the iOS app has maps showing live users.

10.Switch off Android notifications

It’s not possible to switch off the sounds of Android notifications without switching them off altogether, but you will probably want to do this to avoid being disturbed by sounds in meetings. It’s a shame as you then miss out on notifications of users going live but you can now choose to receive notifications without sound.

Choosing the Right Keywords

What is the single most important thing you can do to insure the success of your website? One of the answers is to choose the right keywords.

imagesWhy is that, with all of the highly effective search engine strategies that we can employ? It’s rather simple. If you don’t choose the right keywords, all of your other strategies won’t help you at all, because those strategies build on top of choosing the right keywords.

Let’s look at it from the point of a view of a searcher. A searcher visits one of the major engines looking for your goods or services. He types in what he considers to be the most important topic, or keyword, for his search. Up come the results, ten per page.

If you haven’t taken time to choose the most effective keyword phrases, you may have done something like use the name of your company as your main keyword. If your company has significant name recognition, like Sony, that’s fine. But, if your company is like the vast majority of companies on the Net, optimising the page for the name of your company has just cost you some business.

Choose the most effective keyword phrase for your page!

How on earth do you choose your important keyword phrases? First off, don’t depend on yourself to choose the right keywords. Your searchers are probably not finding you the same way that you’d think they’d find you. Instead, ask your customers or someone outside of your business what they would type in the search window when looking for your site.

Optimise each page separately.

When working with search engines, consider the focus of each page separately, because the engines do. So, if you want top ranked pages, create content-rich information pages that centre on one or two topics only, and use those fine-tuned topics as your keywords for that page.

Don’t try to optimise a single page for every keyword that’s important to your business. It just won’t work. Instead, create separate content-rich pages and utilize your other keywords in that manner, and bring additional traffic into your site.

Let’s look at some tips on how to choose keywords.

Stay away from general keywords.

Take your keyword ideas and fine tune them based on each page of your website. While it’s tempting to choose very general keywords, like “computers,” don’t do it for a number of reasons.

First off, the competition will be fierce. And, more and more searchers are realizing that they can fine tune their searches and cut out never-ending search results by searching for phrases rather than single keywords.

Also, research has shown that when a searcher wants to purchase something, he conducts extremely fine tuned searches to find it. In other words, if he’s searching for a DVD title by a particular actor, he’ll search for the exact title or under the name of the actor, rather than simply “DVD.”

So, while having a web page that ranks extremely well for a very general keyword seems like the ideal situation, keep in mind that you may get more traffic, but you won’t necessarily get more sales.

Consider your individual goods or services.

imagesSome excellent keyword choices are the names of your individual goods and services. For example, if you’re a professional writer, create pages that advertise your services, such as “ghost writing” or “technical writing.” Creating a page for the very general keyword, “writing,” actually may not get you the business you want.

By the same token, don’t use trademarked terms for your competitors in your tags. Trademark lawsuits are springing up faster than blemishes on a teenager’s face, and you certainly don’t want, or need, to find yourself in the middle of one.

Take a general keyword and add a specific word to it.

If you can only think of very general keywords, start with a list of those keywords, and then add specific words to each one. For example, if you ‘re an artist, take the general keyword of “art” and add a specific word or two to it, based on your particular business. So, your keyword phrases may be “art lessons for children” or “modern art.”

Consider regional keywords.

Does your business cater to a particular region? If you have a restaurant in London, for example, your keyword phrase should contain the name of the city or state.

Different terminology?

Do people from other regions use different terminology when searching for your keyword phrase? If so, utilize that terminology in your tags or on your page, or create a separate page. For example, in the South, people call “shopping carts” that you find in grocery stores “buggies.”

What keywords are your competitors using?

Search for your competitors’ sites and see what keywords they’re using. Do NOT copy their tags or anything else. Simply review their pages to see if they might be using a keyword phrase that could be helpful to you.

Once you’ve determined your keyword phrases, don’t stop there!

As mentioned earlier, just because you think that a keyword phrase is perfect for your page, doesn’t mean that it is.

The bottom line here is, we’re after traffic to our sites. Even more to the point, we’re after paying customers! So, if our keyword phrase is so fine tuned that no one is using it, it will do us no good, even if we have a number one ranking for it.

On the other hand, if our keyword phrase is too general, we may get traffic, but we might not get paying customers.

Installing WordPress

Installing WordPress these days is quite straight forward, afetr the installation process there are a few things to do to get you started.

imagesWordPress is currently the most used and popular platform for creating websites and blogs. It has a highly powerful Content Management System that allows editing, publishing and modifying content from a central interface. You can produce awesome looking websites without knowing any code at all, the dashboard is quite easy to navigate around too, not that technical even for the new kid on the block.

In these articles I will detail for you how to optimise a WordPress site from the beginning after install.

1. CHANGE YOUR SITE TITLE, TAGLINE, & FAVICON

The identify of your website depends upon the title of your site and tagline, this will give your website a professional look. The favicon is also way to stand out from the crowd. To change your blogs title and tagline, do the following;

Click on Settings >> General and then change tagline you like it to be.
To change the Favicon, it is a little harder but first open your Dashboard go to the themes tab and then click on Editor and select Header.php add the bellow code to there and click update.

2. CHANGE THE PERMALINK STRUCTURE

This is an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) trick to get an SEO friendly permalink structure to your blog links. This is the most important thing to get traffic.
The most common permalink structure is post name itself.
Firstly, click on Settings and go to the Permalinks tab in your WordPress Admin Panel and change your permalink.

3. SELECT A THEME

There will be a default theme in WordPress after the installation. If you want to make your site beautiful & attractive you must change your theme and choose an appropriate one for you. Always remember to use a theme that is Responsive, SEO Friendly & easily customisable.
For installing a theme you need to visit WordPress panel Appearance tab and select themes, if you want to install the themes available on WordPress click Add New. You may want to upload a new theme that is not available on WordPress themes menu, simply click Add new and Upload the theme, you can also preview the theme chosento see what it looks like.

4. PLUGIN INSTALLATION

Plugins are one the most important and attractive part of the WordPress platform. The most important and the must have plugins in my opinion are;

WordPress SEO by Yoast : A complete SEO solution for your website. You do not need to worry about on-page SEO after installing this plugin. There is also a premium version plugin of this plugin. This is one of the plugins that have highest rating.

WP SpamSheild Anti-Spam : The best anti spam plugin for guarding your blog against the spammers. Spam comments are one of the most infuriating things for a webmaster to worry about but after installing this plugin no spam messages will enter your site.

W3 Total Cache : This plugin helps to improve the speed of your website and to enhance the user interface by caching. The plugin creates a cache of the website and in doing so the speed of the website increases.

Contact form 7 : This plugin is used to make a contact page where the visitor can contact with the site admin about any subject that is relevant to them.

Backup WordPress : This free plugin will backup your entire website. This is a great safety precaution for making your site safe from accidental errors.

The above are the most important and essential plugins that every one should have, there are many alternate plugins but you simply must always have plugins on following categories too;
Security, Backup, SEO, and cache.

5. CHANGE THE TIME ZONE

You should change the time zone of your website. This is very important that while scheduling your the post for publication. To change the time zone you must go to Settings tab and select General and find the Timezone and then choose your country’s time zone.

6. CHANGE THE DOMAIN URL

Don’t get confused after reading the title, in this step you are going to set a preferred domain address. The default address will be in such a way “http://www.google.com” but when you change it to http://google.com by removing the WWW will help you to get some traffic because this is SEO friendly URL. This is not a must do thing but doing this is better for you or your business.
Firstly, go to settings tab and select General then just remove the “WWW” and the click save.

7. DISABLE HTML COMMENTS IN WORDPRESS COMMENTS

HTML comments is a vulnerability that could be reason for a hack attack. For protecting your blog from hackers you must use this method to disable HTML comments. For disabling the HTML comment you need add the following lines in your FUNCTION.PHP file

add_filter( ‘pre_comment_content’, ‘wp_specialchars’);

8. CREATE PAGES

Creating pages is as simple as creating a word file, no need to worry about programming languages you just need to open your command panel and then select pages and click add new. Then type the name of the pages that you want to create and type the content and then click publish.
